First Grand Prix in Malaysia

The first Grand Prix was held at Johor Bahru. It was organized by Almarhum Sultan Sir Ismail ibni Almarhum Sultan Sir Ibrahim in 1940, at that time he was still a Tunku Mahkota Johor. The main objective of the Grand Prix was to collect fund for war.

4 races released in the event lasted for two days. Participation is only for the invited participants only. Invitation sent to all affected areas in Johor, including Singapore, Bangkok, Penang and Melaka.

The second Grand Prix was organized by Singapore Motor Club and supported by Tunku Mahkota Johor in 1948. This time the race only last in one day with 4 races released. Two motorcycles category and two cars category.

In 1948, the first identity cards were issued during the emergency (Registration Areas). Regulations 1948 has been extended through the Emergency Ordinance 1948.

Vehicle Plates in Malaysia

The vehicle's registration plate of Malaysia history began after the arrival of the British since World War 1. The registration plate number "A", "B", "C" or "D" is determined based on the people from any state who are able to own a vehicle at that time.

Vehicle Plate number starting from "A" is for people in Perak because the first owner of the vehicle in Malaysia were peoples from Perak. Not only that, the highest ownership of vehicle was in Perak at that time so "A" is absolutely suitable.

Tani Yutaka the Harimau Malaya

This is an untold history in Malaysia. We used to learn that General Yamashita is the Harimau Malaya(The Tiger of Malaya). Actually General Yamashita is a scum who make a big mess in Tanah Melayu or Malaya (now Malaysia).

Tani Yutaka is the real Harimau Malaya !


Tani Yutaka is born in Terengganu, 1910. He is the son to the japanese family which have their own grocery shop in Hulu Terengganu. He like to wear baju melayu and songkok (malay traditional's attire).
