KOTA KINABALU: Controversial Suluk leader Datu Mohd Akjan Ali
Muhammad has called on members of the community not to give any
assistance to the Sulu gunmen currently involved in a standoff with
Malaysian security forces.
Akjan, who also claims to be the
rightful heir to the Sulu sultanate, said the Suluk community in Sabah
should pledge their loyalty to Malaysia and no other country.
Calling
on the remaining Sulu gunmen to lay down their arms and surrender
unconditionally, he said their persistence would only prolong the
trouble.
