In 1948, the first identity cards were issued during the emergency (Registration Areas). Regulations 1948 has been extended through the Emergency Ordinance 1948.

Old Malaysian Identity card are so classic...so old school..
New Malaysian Identity Card(IC) contains a computer chip. Future Malaysian IC? Who knows right?
p/s: Outside country citizen didn't call IC for identity card.
