Nur Amalina Che Bakri was born on 7 December 1987 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. She was the student who held the most 1As scored in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) until 2007. Nur Amalina achieved 17 1As. She was sponsored by Bank Negara Malaysia to study medicine in the United Kingdom.
